Our history!

Rigs of Rods Semi-Realistic Points Series was born from the idea of creating a Rigs of Rods monster truck show.

For years, I'd run private points series, starting with a qualifier, running every truck in my arsenal on the same track. I'd take the 36, or 48 or so FASTEST times, and pit those trucks against eachother on tours, battling for points, leading into the World Finals at the end of the season.

But these shows were just for fun. No recording or editing took place, meaning I could run qualifiers and tours, start to finish, over the course of a single summer, sometimes more than one season if trucks were randomly selected, cutting out the Season Qualifier time.

Doing all this in the age of the videos from T.Ray, Rigs Of Rods Monster Jam, TLITD31, LOLrus Wut, and many, many more, there was no shortness of content for to watch and dream of running my own YouTube Series.

But I'm a very particular person.

I loved these videos and channels, but it always felt like, for my taste, the videos were always either TOO realistic, or not realistic enough. I wanted a more personal balance between the world of Monster Jam realism and Rigs of Rods chaos.

In 2023, when I lost my job, I took the opportunity to take that time off to go HARD in the YouTube world, and give my channel my best shot.

3 years later, 3 Seasons down, and a whole bunch of merch investment later, WE have grown the channel to an astounding 1.35k Subscribers and still growing, all thanks to content from one single game.

Am I a millionaire? No.

Am I even monetized at this very moment? No.

Do I think anyone should stop working to pursue YouTube with a nearly blank account, playing one super niche game? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

But has it been quite a ride, with peaks, valleys, and a ton of fun along the way? Yes.

The future of RORSRPS as a Series is uncertain. Even the future of the channel, if we're being honest.

The well of savings to live on has run dry, and the search for a job that actually pays me has picked back up, and once that starts, the time to play games and make videos will be cut MASSIVELY.

But for now, we're rocking it, keeping things going with a different series.

If you want to know more about if and when the Points Series will return, continue reading below!

The "Why" of it all

RORSRPS is a ton of fun, but on the back end, it's a very demanding series.

From recording the actual episodes, to creating graphics, Instagram content, editing the videos, doing commentary, etc., etc., it takes me a week of 12hr shifts...YES, Sunday - Friday...to produce the two weekly videos that create a single show.

And Saturday isn't a free-day, either, though it typically is the lightest.

Saturday is Show Day, meaning the episodes would go public. But there's still Instagram engagement to be had, I take being in the lives to spend time with viewers seriously, and as an opportunity to connect and feel the vibes of the videos on release.

Not to mention the series as a whole was too long. It took us a minumum (in Season 3) of 6 Months to get from Episode 1 to the World Finals.

I love RORSRPS, and the Points Series wasn't only a draw for more dedicated monster truck fans who are into the numbers, but it felt good for me to get from start to finish. It felt like we built something together, and finding our Champions at the end of the season felt complete. Felt whole.

As for now, the series is taking a break, with no set date of return.

BETTER DAYS AHEAD!

RORSRPS was a bit rough in terms of pay-off. Resolution.

Coming into 2026, with finding a job on my mind, I was wracking my brain trying to find something for the mean time that felt unique and special for the channel, that was also quick in turn around time, and something that would still engage viewers with the Channel's signature request-based mission...

And then it hit me...

WE HAD SOMETHING IN THE PAST THAT MIGHT WORK!

In our Season 2 Qualifier series, we took requests from fans, filled a 48 truck field in ONE MONTH, and viewers really liked it!

Once it clicked, I shortened the field line up to 24, took it down from a video a day to 2 a week, and swapped the "season qualifier" to a "Championship Qualifier", and BOOM!!

Spin Master Double Draw was Born!

The only thing missing, at least for the main Qualifying Season, was Freestyle. And THAT was a big puzzle piece. A big question mark on the entire series. Would people keep coming back if there was no Freestyle?

And once again, the obvious came to mind with a big flash of lightning...

A challenging track...big opportunity for mistakes and damage....

WEREWOLF NODE BEAM TRUCKS!

This has given us incredible moments, big highlights, wild destruction, and an opportunity to branch out into Shorts, Reels and TikToks; which, on their own aren't, the highlight of the channel as a whole, but they bring in new eyes, and potential new fans!

We're already on Season 2, only 7 weeks after the start of Season 1. The turn around time is incredible!

This means we constantly get new trucks running the tracks, we're always filling a championship line up, and more fans get to participate in the championship more frequently!

Everything about this series, in my eyes, is great for the Channel, and ripe to be the new norm! For a while at the very least.

Are sign ups a thing of the past?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Though, we have a new process nowadays, and with this new series!

It takes us six weeks total to fill a 24 truck Championship line-up.

Once all trucks are finalized, and all spots are filled in the final episode of the season, sign ups are opened in the comments of that episode.

It's first come, first serve, and all I need is your truck choice, and the name you want to go by in the Championship.

There are pros and cons to this series when it comes to sign ups, however.

Pros:

1. We have frequent championships, so you have a lot of chances to sign up if you miss one.

2. You don't have to be available on a certain date or time; you don't even need Rigs of Rods! Just show up when you can, and watch along!

3. You get to choose your truck, so unless someone else snags it first, you get exactly what you want!

Cons:

1. Sign ups only last for the Championship, so once that's over, you no longer drive the truck, and would have to re-sign up for it  IF  the truck makes it to the Championship again.

2. No guarantee of return: YOU are in charge of catching sign ups. Its first come, first serve, so if you miss the deadline or miss the truck, you missed it.

Monetization and merch

For the past 3 years, the channel has been up and down with Watch Hours.

The end of the first season was the closest we've ever been to the goal of monetization, but each season, once the World Finals was over, the Holiday Break killed us.

Not many views would come from "old" episodes in the off time, so for 2 years our watch hours were up and down.

For 2026, when Spin Master Double Draw began, the watch hours sky-rocketed, and it seems that we may, once again, be on track for monetization; especially with Season 2 following the Championship by only a week.

With that being said, funds should start coming in for videos at some point soon, fulfilling a near life-long dream of making money on YouTube.

However, as mentioned above, I'm not expecting to be a millionaire off of Rigs of Rods YouTube videos, and even simply "making a living" is far fetched to say the least.

We're looking at the possibility of 10's of dollars a month at the current rate, which for the record I'm ecstatic about!

But it's still uncertain if the videos will even pay for themselves at this point, and my Adobe subscription is necessary and expensive!

If you love the channel, if you love the videos, IF YOU'RE ABLE...I would very much appreciate you checking out our merch, and our RORSRPS Season 3 Trading Cards.

I'm pretty sure I'm either taking a loss, or just breaking even on the cards, but seeing interest in the channel to the degree of buying merch, and seeing orders come in FEELS good, and gives me something I can point my family to so they see I'm actually doing something while sitting on the computer all the time lol.

Very Cool, VERY Collectable

RORSRPS Season 3 Trading Cards!

Every truck and sign up driver featured in the latest season of RORSRPS!

That's right! If you signed up and were named as a driver, your name is on your card(s), along with the truck you drove, and a picture of the truck from the season!

We're selling randomized, 7-card packs for $10, OR you get 25% off your order when you buy 4 packs or more!

"But Preston, I can get 2 or more packs of pokemon cards for that price!"

That price may sound steep, but let's get fully transparent:

First and foremost, I'm not a global corporation mass producing a million cards a day.

Each card contains a screenshot taken and edited by me, and each card is hand written and designed by me as well, all thoughtfully prepared. The packs will also be hand packed by me.

The way the card making process works, cards are ordered in sets of 20 for limited editions, 100 for base cards, and orders were mixed in total price, but the cheapest order was $250 and the most expensive was $480.

My personal investment to have the full set of cards on hand ready for your orders is upwards of $1500.

That being said, the idea was, with your purchases of card sets, I'd be able to route any money made from the cards back into the next sets.

Not many cards were ordered, however, so now I'm holding onto these boxes of cards with little to no interest in Season 3 of RORSRPS.

So whether you're collecting them all or just finding your cards that you didn't check out last year, or just supporting the channel. I think these collectable cards are a really awesome addition to the RORSRPS world, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in them!
